Join us and the Essex Steamettes for our second Raspberry Jam after lockdown, part of the launch of the Chelmsford Fringe Festival.

Activities

10am Arrivals and setting up

10.30am – 11.15am Rock Band 8yrs+

Create your own band and learn to use code to change a character’s costume, react to inputs, and make sounds

11.30am – 12.15pm Dance Party 8yrs+

Code a Dance Party to share with your friends. Code dance moves, reactions, light effects and more. Featuring Katy Perry, Madonna, J. Balvin, Sia, Keith Urban, Ciara, and 25 more!

12.30pm Interactive glove performance

12.45pm – 1.30pm Interactive glove workshop 1oyrs+

and borrow a Microbit from the library or buy online

10.30am – 1pm Show and work on your projects

1.30pm-4pm Chelmsford Tech Meetup (adults/Jam helpers/STEM Ambassadors)

Suggested age of workshops is flexible according to ability with parental help.

 

For the 12.45pm workshops you’ll need a Microbit which you can buy online, borrow for free from the library and take home (bring library card or proof of ID/address), or use the online emulator and we’ll load onto our Microbits.

We’ll continue the Interactive glove course online over 10 weeks on Sundays 2pm-4pm. The girls have made lots of videos of the glove here.

You can bring along some projects to show and work on in the morning as well. You may be able to get some help.

The adult/helpers/mentors have an informal meetup once things get a little quieter after the workshops.
